About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Georgia. I graduated from The University of Georgia with a master’s degree of social work in 2012. I have experience working at Skyland Trail, a residential mental health treatment facility, with individuals living with mental illness and a history of substance abuse. I have had the opportunity to work closely with individuals and their families as they navigate the process of treatment and integrating into their community after treatment. I believe that it is important to use an integrative approach of medicine, therapy, physical health, and encourage a balance of daily structure and activities. I utilize the theoretical approaches of interpersonal psychotherapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and mindfulness.

Scheduling an Appointment

Please fill out the contact form below or email me to discuss scheduling. I will call you directly to discuss your desire to seek therapy and setting up your first appointment. I believe that an important component to the therapeutic process is being compatible with your therapist and feeling comfortable in building trust. Therefore, I am willing to offer a free 30-minute consultation, in person or video, to determine if you would like to continue working together.

Insurance and Fees

I choose not to be an approved provider for any insurance or managed care companies, however my services are covered under many out-of-network insurance plans. It is your responsibility for checking with your insurance company to see if they will approve me as an out-of-network provider. I can provide you with invoice / receipt so that you have documentation to submit to your insurance company for reimbursement. Below are some questions that might be helpful when you speak with your insurance company:

  • What are my “out-of-network” outpatient mental health insurance benefits?
  • What is my deductible and have I met it?
  • Is it possible to meet with a provider that I chose and submit receipts for reimbursement?
  • Are there any limitations on how many services a year that will be covered?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session?
  • How long will it take to get my reimbursement?
  • Do I need a referral from a primary care physician?

Emergencies

Since I am a independent practitioner, I cannot be available at all times to provide support during an emergency or crisis. If you are experiencing a mental health emergency, I recommend that you call Georgia Crisis & Access line (1-800-715-4225), which is staffed 24 hours per day every day of the week with counselors.

If you are experiencing a life threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to your local emergency hospital.
